On May 4-5, 2023, the International Olympiad for Students – 2023 “«Жүзден жүйрік- Primus inter pares – the first among equals” was held at the “Astana Medical University”. Along with the medical universities of Kazakhstan, students from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan took part in the Olympiad. From the Tashkent Medical Academy, from the Department of Public Health and Management, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Higher Nursing Umarova Fatima and a 2nd year student of the Faculty of Management Madiyarova Farina were trained and sent. In the section “Hygiene, epidemiology and public health” The purpose of the section is to reveal the professional, personal, creative abilities of students, as well as to instill a sense of respect for the future profession in the field of public health. The Olympiad was held in 2 stages:
Stage I: Greeting and getting to know the team, presentation of homework – (pre-prepared video is possible).
Stage II: Completion of a 4-stage case task: solving situational problems and performing practical tasks for stations.
Our students showed their best side, actively answered questions. The works and answers of the participants were evaluated according to the point system, by the jury, approved by “Astana Medical University”.
According to the results of the Olympiad, a 3rd year student of the Tashkent Medical Academy of the Faculty of Higher Nursing Umarova Fatima was awarded a II degree Diploma and a 2nd year student of the Faculty of Management Madiyarova Farina was awarded a III degree Diploma and they were also awarded cash prizes. The Department of Public Health and Management, headed by the head of the department, congratulated our students on their high achievements, wishing them even more success in the future.
